Tove Learning Trust (TLT) has recently undergone a rapid period of expansion and now with eight schools across Northamptonshire/Buckinghamshire and the West Midlands, and we are looking to expand our central team to help manage this growth and support a period of consolidation across the multi-academy trust (MAT). We require an experienced, visionary and flexible Family Support Worker or team to work across the trust. The post holder(s) will work with disadvantaged and SEND students to provide mentoring and support to ensure they make strong gains in their knowledge, skills and motivation. The post holder will train staff across the MAT to develop their pastoral skills and will role model activities and actions to ensure that staff build their own expertise and confidence in this area. This is a specialist role and requires previous knowledge of family working, behaviour modelling and the ability to train others. As this is a 3 month role initially, it is envisaged that this role will suit either a staff member currently in a similar post in a school as a 3 month secondment, or a team of several Family Support Workers who could each offer 1 or 2 days a week for 3 months and work collectively to hot house this project.

The successful candidate(s) will:

  • be efficient, resourceful and have previous experience in a family facing position
  • have experience of working with school refusers and their parents, with experience of attendance and behaviour issues
  • use data to effectively target disadvantaged students and track progress and outcomes
  • have experience of delivering staff training and enabling others to develop pastoral and leadership skills and knowledge
  • be able to plan their own time and deliver rapid results Travel will be required between sites, so you must have access to a reliable means of transport in order to carry out the role.

Tove Learning Trust is a fast moving and exciting place to work. The trust schools have a shared vision and purpose: to deliver outstanding educational experiences that lead to inspiring outcomes. Each academy has a strong individual identity and tailors their educational provision to serve their local community. Academies within the trust collaborate to share expertise and maximise opportunities and experiences for our students. The Trustees of Tove Learning Trust are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
