Job overview

TRAIN TO TEACH IN LONDON!

Do you or  does anyone you know want to get into teaching without taking on the burden of a student loan or paying any fees? Do you want to earn £20,496 (per annum) whilst you train to teach, in a supportive environment, where first class professional development is at the heart of all we do?  If you are due to graduate this summer with a degree in one of the subjects listed below (or a related subject) you may be eligible to undertake the Assessment Only (AO) route into teaching, at Cardinal Pole Catholic School. Cardinal Pole Catholic School is situated in the vibrant east end of London in Hackney.

Are you a recent graduate in any of the following (or related) subjects?

  • Design and Technology
  • Music
  • Geography
  • Science

Rated an Ofsted ‘Good’ school in January 2017, with an ‘outstanding’ grade for personal development, welfare and the Sixth Form, you will join the school at an exciting time. Cardinal Pole Catholic School has an outstanding track record of training teachers, who not only qualify successfully but then many of whom also go on to secure promotion within a short period of time. Cardinal Pole is proud to be able to offer a supportive, nurturing and engaging environment for those who wish to join us in our journey to provide a first class education to the young people we serve in our community.

The Assessment Only route is a two year programme with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) being achieved in the second year. You will work as an unqualified teacher from the start of the programme, meaning that you will teach and have the day to day responsibilities of a teacher. At the same time you will also receive the support of an experienced mentor and regular training sessions to support you in your professional development and prepare you to achieve QTS. This ‘on the job’ experience is invaluable and one of the key reasons why so many graduates of the AO programme gain promotion within the teaching profession. You will also complete a short placement at another school as part of the programme.

If you would like any further information or to discuss this opportunity in more detail, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Please contact adamhall@cardinalpole.co.uk or phone on 02089855150.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.
