Our trainee programme has been development to attract experienced industry professionals, with expert industry knowledge and skills, to work in Further Education. Their understanding of the latest skills, techniques, approaches and equipment has the potential to improve student outcomes.

Joining Bury College as a Trainee Lecturer in Electrical Installation, you will be employed on a full time or part-time, permanent basis teaching for an agreed number of days a week whilst studying on campus towards a recognised teaching qualification.

The College will fund at least 50% of the teaching qualification cost (up to a maximum of £4,000) and the trainee programme is designed and delivered in a way that will ensure you obtain all the skills that are required to become a teacher.  You will have a reduced teaching timetable and extensive support, guidance and mentoring will be provided.

Educated to Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation, you must have experience of successful teaching (or teaching practice for NT’s) in Electrical Installation or related courses and hold a full teaching qualification or professional recognition in learning and skills.  The role requires an individual with the ability to deliver exceptional teaching and learning and inspire, motivate and engage learners. Some experience or knowledge of classroom delivery would be desirable, but is not essential. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as is an ability to meet deadlines and to inspire, motivate and engage students.

This is a permanent position and, upon completion of the above qualification you will progress to the main pay band and terms of a fully qualified Lecturer.

The start date for the successful candidate is due to be 23 August 2022.
