For September 2023 Stowe School is looking to appoint a Trainee Sports Science Teacher. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, with a love of sport, who is seeking to further their career as a teaching professional. The suitable candidate will be committed to becoming a successful classroom practitioner, who has the ability to engage and motivate students, and implement the highest standards of learning and achievement of all pupils.

The successful candidate will be able to apply for a place on the Buckingham Partnership Initial Teacher Training SCITT Programme, where they will be able to gain QTS through developing their teaching competence across the 11-18 age range in relation to the National Curriculum Physical Education programmes of study, examination accredited courses (BTEC, GCSE and A Level). This will be achieved through the development of pedagogical skills and effective delivery in the secondary school context. Working alongside experienced teachers in The Stowe Group of Schools, you will learn how to effectively promote the physical, social, moral and cultural developments of pupils through Physical Education.

In addition to teaching, the role will include playing an integral part in a seven day a week boarding School with commitment to pastoral care, extra-curricular activities, House and School duties. Accommodation and full board will be provided, along with the possibility of numeration for your House duties, tutoring and your contribution to the activity programme. However, the Initial Teacher Training course will need to be funded by the candidate themselves.

This is a one year fixed term post.
