Vision for Education have an exciting opportunity for two Trainee Teachers to join a highly reputable provider of alternative provision for secondary students in the Greater Manchester area.

The role

Supported by the Line Manager, the responsibility of a Trainee Teacher is to deliver high-quality learning, play and recreational experiences for our young people.  For the past 8 years, our client has supported trainee teachers through their self-funded PGCE and offered them employment on Teacher Contracts on completion. They have strong links with local training providers offering PGCE courses, and have developed a proven track record of mentoring and supporting candidates through their teacher training.

The School

Our clients' aim is to offer a secure and structured environment promoting positive behaviour where young people SEN and SEMH needs develop as confident and independent learners.  Their overall aim is to support and facilitate the successful reintegration of pupils back into mainstream schools and their work specifically targets social, emotional and behavioural skills and educational progress in order that young people achieve their full potential.  This requires thorough planning, effective teaching and rigorous monitoring to achieve progression of learning.

Experience and qualifications required:

To start the PGCE you will have an Undergraduate Degree (or equivalent) or at least 50% of the Degree in the subject you're applying to teach

  • You must also have GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and Maths
  • Applicants must have previous experience of and be able to demonstrate supporting young people within a learning environment
  • You must have the ability to engage with and support young learners who can often be disengaged with their learning
