The Sheffield College is looking to recruit an exceptional individual as a Training and Assessment Facilitator to work on either our College based curriculum provision and/or apprenticeship programmes. Ideally you will have experience in the following areas, Built Environment, Carpentry & Joinery and Brickwork. Applications are welcome from candidates who have the appropriate skills, a high level of practical expertise and are passionate about working with and supporting College teams to deliver excellent outcomes for our learners.
College Based Provision
You will be required to work in partnership with College curriculum staff, providing learners with the knowledge base and opportunities to practice and be assessed in a variety of ways to achieve their potential and progress. You will have the required ability to deliver practical demonstrations, supervise and coach in the practising/acquisition of skills, provide information to learners and advice on study skills. The role will require you to assess presentations, practical demonstrations and group work. Recording results, tracking progress and providing feedback will be an integral part of this role. To ensure consistency of standards you will also engage in the internal verification processes.
You will play a major and vital role in ensuring the success of our students. You will need to have the knowledge, experience and ability to support and facilitate training and assessment. Liaison with the team and employers will be an integral part of the role, as will supporting and developing the students, ensuring that they enjoy an exceptional learning experience, with Excellence, Employability, Enterprise, E-enabled and Engagement at its core.
As part of the TAF role you will be required to support students in their work placement setting and guide them to complete their work based portfolios. The nature of the Construction sector means you will have a flexible approach, as you will be required to assess students at their work placements, in various locations.
Apprenticeship Programme
You will be required to work with The College curriculum staff, learners and employers to support the completion of full framework/qualifications in a timely and professional manner. You will have a keen eye for detail, carrying out monitoring and supervision of learners following their accredited programmes at the Sheffield College within commercial/training workshops or within the workplace. Acting as a key link between the College and its partners, maintaining relationships and ensuring learners have access to the best possible opportunities is an essential aspect of this role.
The TAF will also be required to work in partnership and develop relationships with employers, to ensure our students gain the relevant experience allowing them progression to their chosen career aspirations.
The main site for this post is City College but the post holder may be required to work at our other sites.
