Southfields Academy is a thriving non-selective secondary academy located in south west London. It has recently undergone complete redevelopment and benefits from cutting edge art, design & vocational technology facilities. The academy boasts spacious and bright communal areas and classrooms. Classrooms are equipped with the latest technology including interactive whiteboards and personal computers for students.
The Travel and Geography Department has a high profile and is popular amongst the students. Geography at GCSE is in demand and Travel and Tourism is often over subscribed. The department has a positive culture of engagement from students at all levels. All students are taught Geography from Year 7 onward. Students on examined courses study Geography GCSE, Geography A Level, Travel & Tourism Level 2 BTEC and Travel & Tourism Level 3 BTEC.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a motivated and inspiring Travel & Tourism teacher to enthuse and engage students across the ability range. The ideal candidate will be able to use creativity to develop rich and exciting lessons to cater for all students. The successful candidate will be ambitious and adaptable, with excellent planning and classroom management skills. Planning, forecasting and keeping to deadlines is an attribute we would see in the successful candidate. The ability to teach Geography to Key Stage 3 would be desirable but is not essential.
