PolyMAT is a small and dedicated Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) known for its close-knit community. We are looking for a Trust Data Developer to join our team. Our vision is “Success for Everyone,” and the right candidate will help us achieve this goal for our schools.

We currently operate three schools within our Trust: Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys, a well-established boys’ school; Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls, which opened in 2019; and Bannockburn Primary School, a large and successful primary school that joined us on November 1, 2023. We also have a thriving co-educational Sixth Form.

As a Trust, we highly value strong professional relationships. We seek individuals who are committed to building effective connections with colleagues and stakeholders to work together towards our shared vision and goals.

Our Trust and schools take pride in maintaining high standards rooted in our values of Care and Unity. We create a rewarding environment where both students and staff feel valued and supported.

We are looking to appoint a Trust Data Developer. The successful candidate will design, develop, test, and implement data solutions that support the Trust’s data-driven decision-making. This role includes creating custom workflows, dashboards, applications, and other solutions for the Trust and its schools. These solutions will assist in managing and analysing the various datasets held by the schools and the central Trust. Additionally, the role entails maintaining key trust-wide data sets and lookup tables, managing data across the Trust’s Management Information Systems (MIS), providing mentoring, training, and support to school-based data managers or other staff, including advising on timetabling, assessment, and data management.

The Data Developer will be an essential member of the Trust’s central team and will ensure that the data needed for cross-school analysis is reliable, comparable, and delivered on time. They will strive to develop the Trust Data service as a model of excellence and a valuable central support for all school leaders within the Trust.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
• Three or more years of experience as a data manager in a trust, school, or business context.
• Strong skills in data analysis tools, reporting platforms, and database systems (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power BI, or similar).
• Advanced skills in Power BI, including data modelling, report development, PowerQuery, DAX, and row-level security (RLS).
• Expertise in building Power Apps and workflows using Power Automate.

As a member of the PolyMAT team, we offer:

• Career progression opportunities.
• Access to apprenticeship training.
• Excellent professional development.
• A contributory pension scheme.
• Opportunities to collaborate with outstanding and dynamic professionals.
• Access to various discounts for a small monthly fee.
• An employee assistance programme.
• Season ticket loans.
• Excellent catering facilities.
• Cycle2Work Scheme.
• Secure on-site parking.
• Free daily coffee for staff.

PolyMAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All job offers are subject to the Academy Trust receiving a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS). If you are successful, you will need to complete a DBS Application Form. Any disclosed information will be handled according to the Code of Practice published by the Disclosure and Barring Service. The position you are applying for is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, meaning it is illegal to apply if you are barred from working with children.

We are an inclusive Trust striving to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and valued. We aim to ensure that every member of our community, regardless of their background, has the chance to be their best through our vision of “Success for Everyone.”

We encourage potential applicants to inform us of any additional support or adjustments needed during the recruitment process. We take an open approach to supporting candidates with disabilities and recognize that reasonable adjustments may be required based on individual needs.

Sharing your needs with us before the interview process allows us to provide full support, ensuring you are not disadvantaged. We welcome candidates to contact us at any time if they feel uncomfortable disclosing a disability. We are here to assist you. Please reach out to hr@polymat.co.uk if needed.

The closing date for applications is Sunday, 29 June. Interviews will be scheduled to take place shortly after. Suitable candidates will be interviewed promptly upon receipt of their application. The closing date may be moved forward if the position is filled.

We have many staff that have gained internal promotions and made rapid career progression. This reflects on our ability to develop staff and reward outstanding contributions.  Indeed, our focus on professional development and maximising success has led to the recent establishment of Co-Headship, something that has increased our leadership capacity even more.
