Job overview

Required from September 2017 (or earlier by agreement). Based in Haverhill, Suffolk (covering four geographical hubs).

The Samuel Ward Multi-Academy Trust is a highly-regarded partnership of schools located on the Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire borders.

Due to recent expansion, we have created a new senior leadership role to provide advice to the Trust's Board of Directors and leadership in all financial matters.

You will be the Principal Accounting Officer for the Trust, ensuring robust financial governance in-line with DfE and other statutory and Trust requirements.

Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with colleagues as part of the Trust's Executive Leadership team your role will be a key element of the support service which will promote, underpin and sustain the Trust's teaching and learning objectives.

You will have substantial experience in financial management. An understanding of strategic leadership in schools and knowledge of academy accounting practices would be helpful but more important is a proven ability to quickly absorb knowledge about the education financial environment and apply relevant expertise and experience to achieve results.

If you would like an informal discussion prior to submitting your application, you are welcome to contact Howard Lay, CEO, on (01440) 760334 or email hlay@swatrust.co.uk

To request an application pack, contact Joy Griffiths, Director of HR. Tel: 07464 545922 or email jgriffiths@swatrust.co.uk

Closing date: 23 June 2017.
Interviews: Late June / early July 2017.

All vacancies appear on: www.suffolkjobsdirect.org

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. DBS checks required for relevant posts.
