Job overview

We know the key to our success is ensuring that we recruit the highest quality staff and we are delighted to be expanding our team with the inclusion of a Trust Director of Mathematics.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced subject leader of Mathematics from a good or outstanding school who wants to take the next career step toward leading improvements in the teaching of their subject across the Trust.

As an experienced and inspiring leader of your subject, you will play a critical role in continuing to build the Trust’s quality of teaching and learning. You will lead improvement across the two secondary schools currently in the Trust. This model of Trust Directors of subjects is proving to be successful in building leadership and teaching capacity within multi-academy trusts. The Trust is intent on expanding the number of academies it oversees and this an opportunity to be at the forefront of building the future.

You will want to have a relentless focus on ensuring that our students receive the very best experience in teaching and learning in every classroom, so that each one of them can achieve the outcomes their potential predicts is possible.

You will lead at an executive level to enhance the work of school subject directors in raising outcomes through improvements to the quality of teaching and learning. You will have the drive and determination to successfully collaborate in creating a culture of high expectations that raise standards.

What we are looking for:

  • An outstanding teacher with a proven track record of effective departmental leadership.
  • The ability to work with our Executive Principal to lead, drive and implement a shared vision focussed on improving teaching and learning.

What we will offer:

  • A recruitment incentive of £5,000 (£2,500 paid on commencement in post and £2,500 after successful completion of 12 months).
  • Salary sacrifice schemes such as childcare vouchers and cycle to work scheme.
  • Access to on-site gym facilities.
  • Fantastically resourced schools with easy commuting access to both the A1 and A19.
  • A resettlement scheme of up to £6,000.
  • The opportunity to join us at an exciting time working initially with Kenton School – a vibrant and inclusive large secondary school, a school with some stubborn underperformance but on the cusp of excellence, but also with Studio West - one of the most successful studio schools in the country.
