Job overview

We are looking for a Trust Head of Finance to join our expanding Trust team at Altus Education Partnership. We need a dedicated and forward-thinking finance professional to provide strong financial leadership within our successful Multi-Academy Trust. The work of the Trust Head of Finance will be rooted in ensuring benefit to the learners and communities the Trust serves.

The post holder will be responsible for financial planning and management across the Trust, in conjunction with the CFO, Principals/Heads and Trustees, and will be responsible for ensuring the Trust fulfils its financial, company, legal, tax and DfE compliance requirements.

The role will include the production of high-quality reports for the CEO and CFO to enable them to make informed financial decisions in conjunction with the Trust Board.

The Trust Head of Finance will be responsible for the operational line management of the finance function and managing all the financial accounting and transactional finance for the Trust, ensuring all systems are up to date and reporting is timely and in line with required annual financial returns.

The Altus Education Partnership was formed in 2017 by the governing body of Rochdale Sixth Form College, an Ofsted outstanding college, currently with around 1,900 students. The College opened in 2010, and since then, it has raised achievement in the area dramatically and become nationally recognised; the college is Ofsted outstanding and regularly one of the highest performing colleges in the country according to the DfE’s performance tables and national achievement rate tables. In 2021, it was named TES Sixth Form College of the Year.

The post will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges Association Pay Spine, band L2 – L7, currently £50,533 to £56,706.
