Liverpool Diocesan Schools Trust (LDST) was established in 2014 by the Diocese of Liverpool to provide its schools with a Multi Academy Trust that has the vision and values of the Church of England at its heart.

All of our schools are rated at least Good by OFSTED and 63% of our schools are outstanding.

LDST is a rapidly growing multi-academy trust at the next crucial stage of its development, ready to build an innovative curriculum that will raise aspirations, inspire children in our schools and equip them with the knowledge needed to succeed as adults of the future. We believe that curriculum is fundamental to closing the gap and improving outcomes in the North West and the post holder will be instrumental in supporting schools to achieve this.

We are therefore looking for a professional who will ensure LDST is at the forefront of educational thinking and who is:

- a trailblazer, able to inspire schools and colleagues to innovate in developing a curriculum in line with the knowledge based models that are making such a difference to pupil outcomes nationally.

- a visionary leader, identifying and promoting local best practice, and challenging our schools to improve even further.

- collaborative, working closely with the leaders of our Trust to create a broad and balanced curriculum that is clear in its intent and implementation.

Your role will not end there. Once the curriculum has been created you will develop and deliver effective training for all staff in schools to embed the curriculum within schools that have had their curriculum highlighted as a barrier to further improvement. Furthermore, you will mould future leaders, training our middle leaders and developing the role of our subject leaders.

To start the journey, tell us about yourself. Share your vision of a cross phase knowledge based curriculum. Explain how you can work with our Headteachers and Senior Leaders to create a curriculum clear in its intent, positively implemented and with measurable impact.

To arrange an informal visit, to ask any questions, or to submit your completed application form, please email greg.bowkett@liverpool.anglican.org.

A candidate information pack and an application form can be downloaded from our website: http://www.ldst.org.uk/vacancies/.

Liverpool Diocesan Schools Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment to this post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check, 2 satisfactory references, and verification of qualifications.

Teaching children is an essential human task that has always been at the heart of faith communities and especially of the Church of England.

Our family of schools in the Diocese of Liverpool has a long history of excellence combined with nurture, developing in young people the resilience and character needed for life.

Christian values are the foundation of British Values. Within the explicit Christian culture of our schools pupils flourish. Across the centuries, church schools have adapted themselves to the legislative framework given by Government. The current change to academy status for schools is as significant as the 1870 and 1944 Education Acts.

Embracing the opportunities that this new framework provides the Diocese of Liverpool seeks not only to maintain our schools, 92% of whom are Good or Outstanding, but to extend, enrich and improve our family of schools.

We believe that as a diocesan led Multi Academy Trust (MAT) we can, for the system as a whole, create stronger bonds of collaboration and cooperation, sharing good practice, addressing areas of weakness and offering increased opportunities for professional development.
