Job overview

We currently have 5 vacancies open for Lead Practitioner in Maths, History, Geography, Science and Computing.

The Midland Academies Trust are establishing a new team of Trust Lead Practitioners to lead the further development of curriculum, pedagogy and practice across our Trust. If you are a highly skilled teacher and subject leader seeking promotion to a senior position where you can continue to use your subject knowledge and passion to make a difference to a group of schools, then we are looking for you.

This is an exciting new development for our Trust and reflects our commitment to an ambitious, knowledge-rich curriculum and the value we place on continually developing the subject expertise of our staff. We are looking for someone who wishes to influence, shape and direct the work of our subject community whilst also retaining a strong foundation in the classroom.

This is a practical, hands-on role. Our Trust Lead Practitioners will retain a reduced teaching commitment (currently around 13 lessons per week) and will be expected to share examples, trial approaches and showcase excellent teaching practice. The remainder of the time will be spent visiting and working with subject colleagues and leaders across our Trust academies.

Our academies work together as a single shared subject community with a common curriculum written and resourced by our staff. As Trust Lead Practitioner, you will play a leading role in the work of this community with a focus on driving forward subject pedagogy, curriculum development and delivery across our Trust.

If you are an experienced teacher with a passion for your subject, a commitment to delivering high quality teaching and the experience, vision and skills to support others in delivering exemplary curriculum provision across our academies, we would encourage you to apply.

This is an important role for us, and we welcome phone calls or visits to our academies prior to application. To arrange a visit, please email matrecruitment@midlandat.co.uk

About the Trust

The Midland Academies Trust is a close family of schools - our staff work in close collaboration, sharing workload and learning from each other. As a family, we have agreed and common ways of working in many areas, driven by shared values and developed in partnership with our staff.

We are a local Trust - our academies are located a short drive from each other, and we proudly serve the communities of Nuneaton, Hartshill and Earl Shilton.

Our staff are the single greatest resource we have in our mission of creating successful futures for all the pupils in our care.

We place high value on subject expertise and continual professional development. Our teaching staff receive extensive subject specific professional development, including Trust-wide subject networks and subject INSET days.

We work hard to reduce staff workload and our academies have been awarded the Fair Workload Charter recognising our innovative work in this area.

Only Midland Academy Trust applications forms will be accepted. For details of this and other career opportunities visit our website: https://www.midlandat.co.uk/vacancies

This Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS disclosure. Start dates will be conditional upon receipt of satisfactory pre employment checks.
