Laidlaw Schools Trust’s Trustee Ambassador and Head of Governance is a key role, ensuring our governance operates effectively in leading the Trust to deliver its vision of transforming the lives of children and communities through inspirational education. Working with the senior leadership team and the Trustees, the Ambassador prepares the papers and agenda and ensures accurate minutes and records are maintained. A varied and interesting role, the Ambassador will keep up to date with the latest policies and guidance relevant to multi-academy Trusts and ensure colleagues are informed, and training needs identified. The Ambassador has a privileged position with a full overview of the Trust, providing support to The Board and its committees covering everything from academic performance to business operations to pupil and staff welfare. It is a position of great responsibility and Trust, requiring the holder to respect and uphold confidentiality at all times.

Laidlaw Schools Trust is a growing multi-academy Trust in the North East of England, serving children and families in the west of Newcastle, Pennywell, Sunderland and Sedgefield, Durham.  We pride ourselves in being a progressive, inclusive Trust that supports every child to develop their talents whatever they may be and to reach their academic potential.  It is important that as a learning organisation we adapt and change to the needs of our pupils.  We take care to value and develop all colleagues to make sure they can do their very best for children across the Trust’s academies.
