Job overview

About Us:

We are a growing maths and English tuition service, with plans to open in Hampstead and Golders Green (NW11). We also include science for key stage 3 (but will develop key stage 4 in the future) however, the main focus is maths and English. Our students range from year 1 up to year 10, with varying needs answered through a consistent approach to help the students get the most out of the programme and tuition materials given. Customer service is at the heart of what we offer, both helping students in the best way for their individual needs, and also by supporting the whole family and their need for education. These values are embraced through our upcoming Ofsted registration. We do not offer dedicated GCSE tuition, although our materials deliver excellent preparation to excel at this level.

About the role:

The role has several arms. Most hours are spent in an administrative role where you will be required to collate worksheets and handbooks for each student following their specified personalised plan. This can vary as the student progresses but within established learning pathways. You will attend the centre each day and prepare it to welcome students. You will manage the centre, including supporting tuition assistants, helping them to coach and guide their own allocated students to ensure they understand the materials and get the most out of every worksheet.

Working hours will revolve around centre opening times which will be after school for c. 3 hours, plus Saturday mornings.

About you:

· Experience working with children of mixed ages and abilities. This can be within a school or other settings such as sports coaching, children’s clubs etc.

  • You have a good standard of general education as guiding students with maths and English is an essential part of the role.
  • You do not need to be a qualified teacher to be successful in this role.
  • You do need to be able to read and understand curriculum materials and communicate these to students.

· The ability to make decisions and use your initiative within a learning environment.

· Excellent communication skills to students, parents and colleagues.

· A flexible and positive attitude and can think on your feet.

· Happy to issue tuition plans and programmes (you will be trained to do this).

· Administration skills required for session preparation.

· A passion for helping children be the best they can be.

  • Willing to have a full DBS enhanced check completed and register for the update service.

· Building parent relationships.

· Take an active part in marketing activities.
