As a Tutor / Assessor you will train and assess students on College programmes and, in particular, contribute to the Electrical Installation curriculum in its work with delivering NVQ’s, technical certificates and Apprenticeships. Providing relevant student support, you will teach and assess College programmes in Electrical Installation, carry out on-site assessments/observations and other administrative duties relating to the post.

This role demands an individual who holds an NVQ Level 3 in Electro-technical (or an equivalent recognised qualification), an Assessor qualification and who has experience of teaching and assessing NVQ’s in Electrical Installation. With knowledge of the National Vocational Qualification framework and code of practice for assessing the Apprentice framework or standards in the electrical industry, you will have significant experience within the electrical contracting industry and be able to provide effective learner support through tutorial strategies.

With excellent communication skills, enabling effective communication with staff and students at all levels and in a multi-cultural environment, you will be able to work well as part of a team and be flexible to respond to change in demands for new developments. With a range of teaching strategies that meet individual learning needs, you will have a good understanding of the changing agenda for further education and the implications that this has for the delivery and promotion of learning.

This position is based at Carshalton College and Merton College.

Carshalton College is a co-educational further education college based in Sutton. It is a non-denominational school.
