Location: Covent Garden, London.

Salary: Spine point 31 – 35, £33, 896 – £37, 762 pro rata per annum inclusive of London Weighting. Appointments are made at the bottom of the salary scale but relevant past experience is taken into account in the spinal point awarded.

Hours: 21 hours per week. This post includes evening and occasional weekend work.

What’s the role:

To coordinate and supervise courses within the specific programme area; participate in curriculum development activities in liaison with Contemporary Crafts team. Contribute to the design of a distinctive and high quality programme. Play a key role in the promotion and success of the programme area. Support part-time tutors and the technicians as appropriate; carry out the necessary administrative and quality assurance procedures; and to teach on the programme as necessary. 

Selection Criteria:

  • Have experience of teaching two or more specialist areas of basketry, fashion or textiles to adults. Please indicate clearly in your application your areas of expertise and experience.
  • Be a practicing artist maker with tight links to fine art or craft industry and demonstrable evidence of contemporary practice. 
  • Are proactive and can effectively support a high performing team of tutors.
  • Communicate effectively, can listen to and influence others.
  • Can prioritise workload.
