Job overview

Here at Carshalton College, we are looking for a Tutor to teach on College curriculums and in particular, contribute to the teaching of Motor Vehicle.


You will deliver training and assessment activities to a range of learners on our full time and part time curriculums. Providing tutorial and pastoral care for a group of students, you will arrange and monitor work experience activities whilst carrying out assessment, evaluation and other administrative or workshop duties relating to the post.


We’re looking for a fully qualified motor mechanic who holds a Level 3 qualification as a minimum. With experience of working in the motor vehicle industry, you will be competent working with various systems and equipment in a wide range of environments and be able to work successfully as part of a team.


You’ll need to be able to teach and assess motor vehicle practices in a teaching and learning environment and be able to provide effective support to students or other individuals. With an understanding of current curriculum changes and the implications for learning strategies in motor vehicle, you will have a range of strategies to meet the individual learning needs of students and have excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective communication with staff and student at all levels.


The post is based at Carshalton College.

Carshalton College is a co-educational further education college based in Sutton. It is a non-denominational school.
