We are seeking an experienced Tutor for Priory College North Wales, a specialist further education college for learners aged 16-25 with Autistic Spectrum Condition, Asperger's Syndrome and associated conditions. Priory Coleg North Wales delivers tailored education, independence and communication skills.Priory College North Wales also offer bespoke tailored programmes for students including therapies. 

We seek to employ an experienced, proactive and enthusiastic individual work as part of our team. The role as a Tutor  will work with small groups of learners. The successful applicant will be responsible for the learning of a small cohort of up to 16 learners in total. The curriculum subjects may include: Essential skills (literacy, numeracy and ICT) PSE, Preparing for Work or College as well as planning Life Skills; according to the candidate's skills and experience. The successful candidate will have a generous allocation of planning, preparation and assessment time.

Applicants will need experience of working with learners with a range of special educational needs. This should include experience with one or more of the following: Autism, Aspergers, Dyslexia, ADHD, Speech and language Disorders and Dyscalculia. Relevant experience and specialist qualifications are desirable. The tutor will be required to plan and monitor their own schemes of work under the guidance of the Head of Education also be able to  track student progress, guide classroom support staff. Effective teamwork and communication are essential to this role.

The curriculum is necessarily built around the individual and the changing needs of the students and consequently the work requirements may adapt over time. The successful applicant will be required to plan and deliver a range of subjects at different levels to suit  the students' needs in order for them to make progress. The role includes directing and guiding learning support staff.
