We seek to appoint a Specialist University and Careers Guidance Counsellor with effect 1 August 2021.

1. Requirements:

• Expertise with the university admissions process; previous success with admission to top US and UK Universities is preferred.

• Previous school experience in university guidance counseling and/or university admissions

• Proven familiarity with college and university networks.

• Working knowledge of university admissions online platforms.

• Lead Careers Guidance for Years 6-13.

• Proven track record of Pastoral care within a school setting.

• Registration with a Teachers’ Accreditation / Registration Body.

• Be a dynamic, driven person with a desire for educational excellence.

• Be willing to be part of a successful team at a school with a well-established academic record.

• This is a non-teaching role and as such carries no regular teaching commitment. 


2. Qualifications and Skills:

• BEd (QTS), /PGCE or equivalent

• Good communication skills

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills

• Ability to work both independently & collaboratively

• Ability to plan engaging lessons that challenge all students

• Excellent communication, writing, and editing skills 

• A genuine passion for and a belief in the potential of every pupil

• Solution-focused with a can-do attitude and a growth mind-set

LICS, (Lusaka International Community School), is a dynamic international teaching and learning Pre-K through to A Level School. As a CIE school (Cambridge Assessment International Education), we offer Checkpoint at Year 6 & 9, IGCSE, AS and AL assessments.
