We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced unqualified teacher with a music specialism to join an evolving team in Milefield Primary School. Experience in a primary school is essential.
We are looking for someone who can continue to promote our vision of spread your wings and soar to success through the highest quality first teaching for all pupils regardless of their needs/abilities. The successful candidate will have worked with a variety of teachers and will have the passion to continue their professional development.
They will be an enthusiastic classroom practitioner as well as being innovative, creative, resilient and dynamic. Excellent communication skills are essential as the role will involve close liaison with a wide range of professionals as well as colleagues, parents and students.
They would be expected to provide a curriculum subject specialism (Music) to cover PPA of all classes every afternoon. A specialism or qualification in Music would be essential for the candidate. The role also involves working in a team each day within the year 6 class. As this is an unqualified teacher role you will work with varied groups of children day to day. This would be under the leadership of the KS2 leader (SLT).
A knowledge of SATs provision in KS2 would be advantageous. Our current catchment area serves a variety of pupils from varied backgrounds. We serve a high proportion of highly deprived areas. All staff are highly committed to developing pupils’ understanding and increasing their independence. Milefield Primary School is situated in the village of Grimethorpe close to the town of Barnsley. The school contains a specialised Early Years Unit for foundation and reception children, separate classes for Key Stage 1, Year 1, mixed Year 1/2 and Year 2, and seperate classes for Key Stage 2, Years 3, mixed year 3/4, year 4, 5 and 6.
Milefield also contains a Children's Centre providing a range of services for children and families.
