The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust is currently comprised of four schools, providing high quality provision to the most vulnerable children and young people across East Sussex. Cuckmere House, New Horizons and St Mary’s cater for pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs). College Central is an Alternative Provision Pupil Referral Unit. Our pupils have a range of social, emotional and mental health needs and barriers to accessing mainstream education. Our schools Ofsted ratings range from ‘Outstanding’ to ‘Good’ and we are ambitious in our drive to improve outcomes for all pupils. 

St Mary's School is a 'Good' all-boys SEMH Special school and we are seeking to appoint an unqualified teacher of general subjects into our dynamic educational team. We are passionate about creating a safe and supportive learning environment that fosters respect for others, develops resilience, promotes high expectations and prepares young males for successful futures.

A proven ability to work with challenging students and a resilient attitude are essential. All the students attend on a full time basis and have an Education and Healthcare Plans (EHCP). The successful candidate will be expected to deliver a primary curriculum to pupils within Key Stage 2 and 3. They will also take responsibility for the pastoral support and progress of a group of eight pupils.

The post is to commence from September 2019 or as soon as possible. If successful, you will become part of a very committed and hardworking team. While some experience of working with vulnerable young people is preferable it is not essential.  We will provide you with high quality training and support.
