Cedar Road Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, engaging, inspirational and dedicated teacher to work as part of our amazing Year 6 team from September 2024.

We would like to hear from applicants who can help us maintain and further develop the school's good reputation and positive ethos. We welcome applications from early career teachers (previously NQT) to experienced teachers. We can offer career development for teachers of all levels of experience who can offer high quality opportunities for the children.

About the role

  • Carry out professional duties and to have responsibility for an assigned class.
  • Carry out appropriate planning, teaching, marking and assessment activities so each child can achieve their potential.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day work and management of the class and the safety and welfare of the pupils, during on-site and off-site activities.
  • Promote the aims and objectives of the school and maintain its philosophy of education.

About Our Academy

We are a successful, oversubscribed school situated near Abington Park in Northampton town. We have two classes of 30 pupils in each year group and the year group teams work very closely together to deliver a high standard of education, experience and enjoyment for every pupil. Our ethos is based around building core values of respect, integrity, care compassion, hope and responsibility throughout our school community, as well as ensuring that each pupil has the ambition to achieve as highly as he / she can.

Who we are looking for

  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Evidence of in-service professional development.
  • A thorough up to date knowledge of the range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and how to implement them effectively.
  • A thorough understanding of the national curriculum and a range of assessment requirements and arrangements.
  • A clear understanding of age-related expectations for children within the Primary phases.
  • Know how to use local, national and statistics to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the implications of equal opportunities, multicultural education and inclusion.
  • Strong application of IT to enhance children’s learning.
  • Know the legal requirements, national policy and guidance on the safeguarding of children.
