Downe House Muscat currently has girls from Grade 4 to Grade 12 and will introduce Grades 1-3 in 2023-2024.

The Location:

 The school is located in the Al Bandar Masterplan – a 1.1 million square metre development situated in close proximity to Muscat International Airport, City Centre Muscat and many residential communities. Our state of the art campus houses some of the finest school facilities in Oman. These include dedicated libraries, a central atrium, a STEM centre, an Art and Design centre, 400 seated theatre, music and drama studios and practice rooms, IT labs, outdoor sports facilities and an exciting Phase 2 planned for construction in 2024.

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of Primary, the role covers the teaching of core subjects in Grades 5 and 6. The post holder will require the ability to relate well to, and communicate effectively with, parents, staff and pupils. Teachers are expected to contribute in general to the high academic standards and disciplinary ethos of the school, and to follow its policies. They should seek to make a real contribution to their academic department and the co-curricular life of the school. They are responsible for ensuring all pupils make excellent progress and find learning enjoyable and challenging.

Salary and Benefits:

The post attracts a competitive salary (£47,000 - £63,000) UK gross -equivalent package before tax and benefits appropriate for the experience, skills and personal circumstances of the successful candidate and will include:

Safeguarding and Data Protection

 Downe House Muscat is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to respect this commitment. The post is subject to applicants providing a satisfactory current Police Clearance Certificate. In addition, candidates are requested to provide a police clearance certificate from each country they have worked in. Two satisfactory professional references will also be required.

 If successful and if applicable for visa purposes, applicants will need to supply relevant degree certificates, university transcripts and proof of being a ‘full time’ student. Some of these documents will need to be attested by you at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Oman Embassy in the candidate’s home country.

Downe House Muscat currently operates from Grade 4 to Grade 12 and we will launch

Grades 1 to 3 in 2024-2025.
