Ada Lovelace Church of England High School, one of four schools in the Twyford CE Academies Trust, is a new seven-form-entry secondary school for pupils aged 11-18 in Ealing, West London. The school has an excellent reputation and is rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted (March 23). Ada Lovelace was selected as one of 15 Language Hubs in the country in 2023 and now co-ordinate the Thames West Language hub in order to support excellent MFL provision within a wider context. The role of Upper school German Coordinator is an exciting opportunity for an innovative teacher and curriculum planner who is ready to take on a role within departmental leadership.  Ada Lovelace is unique in teaching German as the primary foreign language, with French as an additional foreign language. The successful candidate will have responsibility for leading German in years 9 and 10, supporting the department in terms of curriculum planning and progress monitoring within the framework of the existing Trust curriculum model. The new post-holder will ensure that the quality of teaching and learning in y9-10 is consistently high and will contribute to the development of a culture of sharing good practice. Additionally, they will be responsible for the delivery of a rich wider learning offer in Y9 and 10 German.

The new post-holder will be an outstanding German specialist classroom practitioner, ready to contribute to training in teaching and learning, as well as curriculum and assessment planning. They will have experience of achieving outstanding student outcomes across a range of prior attainment  and will be an excellent analyst of student performance data. They will be enthused by the prospect of leading and managing others to achieve common goals.

Twyford CE Academies Trust

The Twyford Church of England Academies Trust (TCEAT) is a compact CoE MAT which  comprises four schools in the London Borough of Ealing. The Trust was established in October 2011 to enable an existing School, Twyford CE High School, to build on its successes and look outward to the large number of parents who were eager to become part of its community. Over a 10 year period it launched three new schools Ealing Fields, William Perkin and Ada Lovelace all of which have achieved progress outcomes ranking them in the top 1% of schools nationally, making TCEAT the highest attaining Trust in the UK. Ada Lovelace CE High School, Ealing

Ada Lovelace Church of England High School opened in September 2018 and has had a smaller intake (125 students per year) for two years while co-located at William Perkin Church of England High School - an Ofsted Outstanding school - in Greenford. The school moved to its brand new permanent site in north Ealing in September 2020. It now has five Year Groups with a total of 868 students. The school will have 1,330 students when full. Ada Lovelace is named after the Victorian pioneer of computing – it has a specialism in digital technologies and will provide different routes from Year 7 in ICT and Computer Science as well as applications of Creative Media. Ada Lovelace now coordinates the Thames West Language hub. Ada Lovelace also benefits from specialist provision and support from within the family of Trust schools.

About Ada Lovelace Church of England High School

Ada Lovelace Church of England High School is the newest school in the Twyford CE Academies Trust having moved into its brand-new permanent site in north Ealing in September 2020. The school has now reached full capacity, educating just over 1090 students across years 7 to 13. Ada Lovelace is named after the Victorian pioneer of computing and has a specialism in Digital Technologies which has led to the launch of T-levels at the school in Digital Production, Design and Development , Laboratory Science and Accounting. Being part of the top-performing Multi-Academies Trust in the UK has enabled Ada Lovelace to achieve outstanding GCSE results with progress measures at GCSE which have consistently placed it in the top 1% of schools nationally. Whilst the school has a strong Christian ethos, its admissions policy is open rather than faith-based and the school is heavily oversubscribed.
