Upper School Humanities Teacher (starting date: 1st February, 2017)

Newton College (Lima, Peru) is a private, Peruvian-British, co-educational, bilingual school with a prestigious world reputation. Our beautiful 11-hectare campus is located next to a lake. We have excellent facilities and possess a study centre in primeval Amazon Rainforest. Our current student roll is 1562 and we deliver the IB Primary Years and Diploma Programmes and the IGCSE (although we’ll be changing to the IB MYP in 2018). In Early Years 50% of the curriculum is delivered in English and the other 50% in Spanish. As students progress through Lower and Upper School up to 80% of the curriculum is taught in English.

In the IBDP we achieve above world average results and our students enter the most prestigious universities in the world.

For February 2017 we are looking for a fully qualified and experienced Humanities teacher for Upper School students aged 11-18. Candidates should have:

  • Experience teaching Geography and / or History up to IBDP or A-Level courses;
  • Experience teaching pupils who are second language learners in English;
  • Experience writing schemes of work;
  • A good level of digital literacy (for collaborative learning we use Google Classroom).

The teacher will be part of the Humanities Faculty (Geography, History, Religion and Economics). We seek enthusiastic, caring teachers who enjoy collaborative planning. We offer an excellent work climate and a very attractive package: 2-year contract, competitive salary in US dollars (the main scale M1-M10 ranges from US$45,553 gross per annum to US$62,174), settling-in allowance, medical insurance, flights, Spanish lessons and excellent professional development.
