Job overview

“Transforming lives and the environment through inspiring education”

Established in 1893, Writtle University College has been producing leaders in the land-based industries and organisations for more than 120 years. Set in beautiful landscaped gardens on a 220 hectare estate, Writtle University College offers a distinctive student experience across various levels of academic study including Postgraduate, Undergraduate, Further Education, Short Courses and Apprenticeships. It is a unique higher education institution, with a well-established international reputation for its research and consultancy, attracting students from across the globe. The institution, which has enjoyed recent successes in being granted Taught Degree Awarding Powers and University College status, continues to develop as a distinctive place to study and serve the environment through Science and the Arts.

With the forthcoming retirement of the Vice-Chancellor, Dr Stephen Waite, Writtle University College is seeking an exceptional and inspirational individual with the passion, vision and conviction to lead an ambitious agenda for the future development of the University College. Candidates should demonstrate first rate ambassadorial and communication skills to promote the University College, regionally, nationally and internationally. Evidence of achievement in strategic leadership and management of an organisation within the higher education sector or elsewhere, of appropriate complexity and scale, is required. This is an excellent opportunity for a determined and ambitious individual to build on Writtle’s reputation for inspirational education and to achieve even greater success.
