Cambridge Regional College is an ambitious and high achieving Further Education College. We are a large and inspirational centre of learning based in Cambridge on a purpose-built site next to the Science Park, with outstanding teaching and leisure facilities and a reputation for excellence in a number of fields. The College has been graded as “Good” with outstanding features by Ofsted and this has grade has just been reconfirmed through a short inspection. We have a clear determination, and the capability, to become an outstanding organisation within the next two years.

Providing education and training to 3000 full-time learners, 3000 part-time and 4600 apprentices, we have a current income of around £33 million, with considerable opportunities to expand operations whilst continuing to pursue excellence in all that we do.

We are looking to recruit a Vice Principal - Commercial. As a member of the senior leadership team reporting to the Principal, this postholder will be fully involved in strategic decision making and responsible for leading and growing the College’s commercial operations.

We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic, enthusiastic team player with keen strategic, financial and commercial acumen. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record in marketing, growing business and making sales, preferably in the Education sector and ideally have a good knowledge of the Further Education. Alongside the management of commercial business, the postholder will also provide a strategic lead for Employer Engagement, Marketing and Student Services. It is therefore essential that the appointed individual has excellent and current knowledge of the apprenticeship market and is used to managing large complex teams. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate success in achieving significant levels of performance improvement within a comparable organisation, and will be ambitious to achieve further success for the learners, employers and communities for whom further education is so important. It will be important for the successful candidate to demonstrate the skills and experience required for the t successful development of strategic partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders to address skills gaps and shortages whilst ensuring that the College is well positioned to meet the challenges and opportunities which arise from operating in an area enjoying strong levels of economic growth

Cambridge Regional College is a co-educational further education college located in Cambridge. Providing places to students aged 14 and over, the college has several thousand learners young and old, full and part-time. Cambridge Regional College has seen extensive redevelopment and modernisation over the years, and as such can boast of a wide range of modern teaching and recreational facilities, with the most recent major development, which opened in 2011, providing the college with a brand new Low Carbon Centre. The college also plays host to a number of vocational teaching workshops and study areas.
