The position of Expat Vice Principal is a very important role within the school that forms an important part of the schools next strategic steps.

Shenzhen International Foundation College (SIFC) was founded in 2004, initiated by a team of professors from Shenzhen University and approved by the Shenzhen Education Bureau, a full-time international school registered with the Provincial Department of Education and the China Scholarship Council. SIFC is also one of the oldest international schools in Shenzhen to implement the AP curriculum and American middle school courses. SIFC is committed to cultivating students to be modern citizens with healthy body and mind, noble personality, independent thinking, tenacity, spiritual bond with homeland, and innovative spirit. The modern inner city is surrounded by palm-studded districts of gated communities, beautiful parks and former industrial buildings turned into contemporary art districts, cafes, restaurants, boutiques and high-ceilinged galleries.

The Role

The Vice Principal will have whole school responsibility and will work closely with the Head of School, to provide direction, inspiration and guidance to our teaching staff including staff development, performance management and deployment.

The Vice Principal will provide effective leadership and support to staff, students and parents while inspiring an atmosphere of energy, excitement and high achievement.

Focused on developing a high performing learning community, the successful candidate will initially take lead responsibility for the design, development and implementation of the curriculum and assessment model from Grades 9 to 12.

The key priorities of the role will be to ensure the curriculum in its design, implementation and review, is carried out systematically and collaboratively and reflects the schools vision, mission and philosophy and aligns to international standards and benchmarks.

In addition, the Vice Principal will also contribute to the day-to-day operations of the school. As the school progresses towards its future goals the role of Vice Principal will adapt to match the needs of the school.

Candidate Profile

The school is seeking a highly experienced leader, who has the required knowledge and skills to lead and develop this aspect of the school. The school values candidates who can demonstrate a dynamic, forward thinking mindset and the ability to establish and maintain a positive, internationally minded and collaborative environment that ensures high academic standards and student achievement.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience of leading in a high performing international school is essential. As is experience with the AP or ALevel Programme and an excellent understanding of international school standards, curriculum and teaching and learning developments.
