Job overview

L20-L25 (£75330 - £85145)

Required from September 2024

We are a busy, vibrant, and happy school – academically successful but driven to achieve much more. We believe that education must maintain a balance between intellect and character. An outstanding education is not either/or. It is both. We believe that qualifications are what girls get; they do not define who they are and will play only a part in shaping the people they become. Our academic curriculum therefore is only a part of what we do.

At the Folkestone School for Girls, girls do not complete an excessive number of qualifications. This allows them not only time to focus efforts on achieving the absolute best grades within these, but also time to participate in our huge array of co-curricular activities in school and/or pursue interests & hobbies out of school. There is time to spend with friends and family and time, too, to just be a child. A justifiable balance between intellect and character.

We seek to appoint an exceptional leader and outstanding classroom practitioner to join our school family and add to our unique vision for an outstanding quality of education. We are looking for a flexible, creative individual who will help us in our ambition to become the best school in the world; nothing less!

You will need great people skills, reserves of energy and enthusiasm and a capacity for sustained hard work. Perhaps most importantly, you will be positive, optimistic, kind and have a can-do attitude to anything that will benefit FSG Students.

Areas of responsibility will marry the needs of the school with the experience pool across our leadership team. This role would be ideally suited to an existing Assistant or Deputy Principal with broad experience across a range of senior leadership areas of accountability. The post will be excellent preparation for Headship in due course.

You can find out all about our school and about our unique school vision and ethos via our school website.

If you would like to make an appointment to view the school and see our world-leading ethos in action, then tours will be available on the morning or afternoon of Tuesday 19 March 2024 – please contact Suzanne Bell – on sbell@folkestonegirls.kent.sch.uk stating your preference for morning or afternoon and we will make every effort to accommodate you.

Details of this position and an application form are available

on our website www.folkestonegirls.kent.sch.uk

Only applications submitted on the schools or Kent Teach application form will be considered
