Salary: L14-18

Start date: September 2017

Hours of work: Full time

“We aim to know every one of our students well, providing an environment that allows them to achieve what they are truly capable of… promoting both academic progress and a ‘can do’ attitude.”

Our all-through Free School opened in September 2013; we are oversubscribed and experiencing rapid growth in both the Primary and Secondary phases. Our fantastic heritage site has been fully refurbished and provides a unique learning environment. Small year groups enable us to know every child well and personalise their learning. We are forward-thinking, with the freedom to shape our school curriculum in response to the needs of the local community and businesses. We are delighted that Ofsted judged us to be a Good school in April 2015.

As a leader in a core area, this is a unique opportunity to bring your vision of best practice in pastoral provision to the leadership of this area and develop innovative practice to ensure our students achieve excellent outcomes and develop a “Can do” attitude.

We expect you to deliver consistently high quality teaching and we have a ‘no excuses’ culture. Together we take steps to ensure no child is left behind in their learning. As a small school the uniqueness of each student is central to our vision and values

Most important is your attitude and approach. You will be able to:

  • motivate and engage students
  • engage, motivate and inspire staff
  • work effectively with parents to ensure all students develop a “Can Do” attitude
  • keen to use new technologies to support all students
  • committed to securing outstanding outcomes for all students in your care
  • willing to play an active part in developing a new school in the next phase of its journey

As a growing school we offer outstanding opportunities for development and further promotion. We are a strategic partner of the Oxfordshire Teaching Schools Alliance.

Closing Date: Friday 28th April 2017

Interviews will be held on: 10th and 11th May 2017

Applications must be made using the HPFS Application Form which should be submitted along with an Equal Opportunities Statement.

Heyford Park Free School is a small and inclusive all-through Free School that takes students from the age of 4 through to 19 and encourages them to flourish, recognise their strengths and identify their own aims and aspirations.

The school is located at the heart of Heyford Park in Oxfordshire – the site of a former RAF and US Air Force base – and reflects the strong community spirit we have here at Heyford Park.

It is our aim to know every one of our students well, providing an environment that not only allows them to achieve what they are truly capable of, but also equips them with excellent academic qualifications and a ‘can do’ attitude. We want out students to be able to create the right pathway for themselves while making a meaningful contribution to their communities.
