The College was judged as outstanding by Ofsted in a pilot "no notice" inspection in 2012, and again in a public inspection in 2014. We have high expectations of our students and staff and each year their combined efforts result in excellent examination grades, outstanding learner success rates and superb music, arts, sports and community achievements. We welcome apprentices and students of all ages and abilities and our tutorial and learner support programmes are designed to meet their needs, challenging them to reach their full potential.

Vice Principal – Standards and Student Experience
Competitive Salary (plus excellent benefits)

Exeter College is seeking to appoint an exceptional leader to join our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) as Vice Principal – Standards and Student Experience.  This new senior post has been created as a result of the appointment of the previous Vice Principal (with responsibility for this remit) to Principal and Chief Executive.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and inspirational leader to join a progressive and successful college.  You will lead and develop strategies to ensure that students perform at an outstanding level and you will support the continuous development of teaching, learning and assessment and the enhancement of the student experience from initial enquiry to final achievement.

Reporting directly to the Principal, you will be strategically responsible for ensuring that every aspect of the learners’ experience remains or becomes excellent.  Working with the Board’s Quality and Standards Committee and as the key contact for Ofsted, you will ensure that the College remains Ofsted outstanding, and lead on all aspects of quality improvement, including the compilation of the College’s annual self-assessment report. You will ensure that the student experience continually develops and evolves to meet the strategic aims of the College and its community.  As the SLT lead for quality of student experience, you will also oversee the College’s tutorial and enrichment programme and be accountable for progress (value added) and stakeholder surveys.
You will be forward-thinking, creative and driven to champion a positive, aspirational culture which focusses on student success.  You will have proven leadership and management abilities with outstanding interpersonal skills and be confident in data analysis. You will hold a degree, be qualified to Cert Ed/PGCE (or equivalent) and will have experience of leading both quality improvement strategies and Ofsted inspections against different frameworks.

If you would like further informal discussion about this role please contact John Laramy, Principal and Chief Executive on 01392 400 515.
