Cheshire East Council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults across the Borough. The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for this post.

The post of Virtual School Head teacher: Cared for Children will include responsibility to:

  • To ensure that there is an effective strategy for promoting the educational provision of Cared for Children which improves the educational experience and outcomes of all cared for children including those placed out of authority.
  • To provide the leadership of the Virtual School which ensures that the educational attainment and progress of all Cared for Children is effectively monitored and evaluated, actively promoting their welfare, health and wellbeing.
  • To champion the educational needs of Cared for Children at a local, regional and national level, ensuring the voice of pupils and celebrating individual successes at every opportunity. 

Applicants will need to have experience of working at a senior level in the education sector.
 
This exciting post sits within the Education and Skills Directorate led by Jacky Forster.  This is an excellent time to be joining the Council and this Directorate and the ability to shape and influence key work streams across the education sector are vital attributes we are looking for in successful candidates.
