Roedean is an extraordinary school, sitting in the South Downs and overlooking the English Channel. However, it is not just the location but the strong academic focus, with a genuine belief in the importance of creativity and an all-round education, that makes Roedean unique.
Roedean is at a very exciting time in its development, with innovation, growth and the continued development of first-class facilities at the heart of our plans. We welcome your interest in being part of our continuing journey.
We are seeking to appoint a professional musician with relevant performing/teaching qualifications and experience of teaching French Bassoon from beginning to elementary level. The post holder will teach individual lessons, currently 2 or 3 pupils per week with the prospect of growing further interest in the instrument at the school. A willingness to participate in the wider work of the department would be an advantage as would the ability to cover theory and aural training but this is not essential.
You will be experienced and well qualified, but most importantly, you will have the girls’ aspirations and welfare at the heart of your vision. We are seeking someone with who values kindness and generosity, who can build transformational relationships and who wants to make a difference to every individual, as an individual. This is a great opportunity for a talented individual, with energy and enthusiasm, to join our team.
Closing date: 9am, Friday 21 May 2021.
Due to the need to appoint quickly we reserve the right to interview and appoint at any stage of the process.
Roedean is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful applicants.
