The School of Adult Education in South Thames College has an excellent opportunity for inspiring and ambitious individuals to take on the role of Visiting Teacher in ESOL.


Within this role, you will teach ESOL across all levels to learners aged 19 years +, using a variety of teaching, learning and assessment strategies that meet the needs of all learners. You will deliver engaging and inspiring remote and face to face lessons, ensuring learners are gaining a positive learning experience, all members of the group are respected, are able to participate and ultimately, achieve their qualifications. It also includes providing language / literacy support to ESOL adult students.


We’re looking for someone who has a degree or professional qualification in an appropriate subject and who has excellent current teaching skills in ESOL. With a high level of computer literacy and practical digital skills, including experience of delivering remote learning, you will have current knowledge of curriculum changes and the implications for teaching and learning strategies. Experience of providing Additional Learning Support in a variety of settings is desirable.


A teaching qualification is not essential, as long as you are willing to achieve one in line with current regulations.


Availability to work at least one evening per week is essential.
