Lancing College Prep at Hove is home to a highly successful, flourishing and relaxed Music department. The community provides an environment in which every pupil has the best experience through many varied opportunities. There are over 200 lessons taking place each week in Music and Drama. Most pupils learn at least one instrument in a wide range of instrumental and vocal disciplines. Our ensembles include: Y3&4 Choir, Y5-8 Choir, Orchestra, Band. We host music and drama exams with the ABRSM, Trinity and New Era Academy. There is a busy programme of music events that take place throughout the year. 

Job Title:                    Visiting Teacher of Woodwind

Reporting to:             Director of Music 

Applicants are invited from both suitably qualified and experienced teachers to join a strong and successful Peripatetic Music Team, within a thriving Music Department.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

• Teaching individual lessons, delivering approximately thirty individual lessons per pupil in each academic year and may be invited to take on other duties, on an occasional or regular basis, depending on the needs of the school.
• The post-holder will be expected to write annual reports on individual pupils. 
• Preparing pupils for internal and external exams and performances, and for auditions.
• Communicate regularly with parents.

• Professional performing experience / accomplished musician
• Excellent organisation skills
• Good communication skills
• Sense of humour and ability to get on well with school colleagues
• Caring personality

Desirable

• Experienced teacher of beginners and advanced pupils
• Experience of performing in a range of different styles
• Ability to offer a second instrument such as Piano
