Job overview
Do you have a passion for capturing eye-catching photography and videography, with a knack for keeping things organised? Are you eager to make an impact, joining a growing team, and an organisation that continues to expand? If so, then this Visual Content Creator role might be perfect for you.
We are seeking a highly-motivated and enthusiastic Visual Content Creator to join the friendly and collaborative Marketing Services team in its goal to market Leigh Academies Trust (LAT) schools to parents, students, and talented staff. This role would be ideal for someone with strong organisational and communicative skills who has a passion for producing engaging, visually compelling content. The successful candidate will be self-motivated. They will be confident heading out to visit our academy sites to capture everything from social media-style content demonstrating academy life and events, to coordinating fully-staged, professional-standard shoots in both photo and video formats. They will then return to the office, or - since this role is hybrid - their home office, to edit what they’ve captured into something that inspires both parents and students, whilst ensuring it conveys the Trust’s professional yet welcoming tone.
The quality of your photography, which will be used on a range of materials by the entire Marketing team, will ensure that all static marketing materials look crisp and clean. The style of your video work will fit with the requirements of the academy and the wider marketing team for that particular task or project - whether this be short-form, consumable content designed for social media, or a more expansive marketing video comprised of talking heads, complemented by B-roll which showcases life at the academy; the latter of which may be required a handful of times per year to renew the marketing for the academies we serve.
When it comes to administration, the successful candidate will be highly experienced in producing and maintaining records of work; notating progress towards tasks centrally using the team’s ticket management system and logging/filing what they’ve produced carefully; updating spreadsheet logs so that it is easily located and used in the future by the wider marketing team. They will maintain a register of all student images, ensuring all media is filed and removed where appropriate for data compliance; working closely with the Trust’s Data Services team. They will be comfortable managing their workload, and will be able to provide concise updates to the Marketing Manager and/or Project Manager with ease when required.
With a keenness to deliver exceptional customer service, you will provide prompt, polite, and professional updates to your customers (academies or other Trust departments) regarding the progress of their requests. You will also identify any risks to the delivery of a project early on and highlight those to the Marketing Manager or Project Manager as appropriate.
Finally, joining a small but growing team, you will contribute to group discussions and work collaboratively. You will have a passion for sharing ideas and applying your initiative to finding new and innovative ways to further support the team in the successful completion of customer requests. You will have an eye for detail and, ideally, an eye for proofreading text, as part of the content creation process. The ideal candidate will appreciate clean, modern design, as suited to the education sector.
This is a permanent opportunity, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 9am-5pm and 9am - 4:30pm on Fridays with a 30-minute lunch break . This is offering a salary of £29,904.

Leigh Academies Trust (LAT) is one of the largest and most successful school groups in England. Starting in 2008 in Dartford, the Trust is now responsible for 33 academies of all types, educating over 24,000 pupils, employing almost 4,000 talented staff and with access to an annual income of over £250m. Our Ofsted track record is impressive. Currently, 56% of our academies are considered to be “Outstanding” whilst inspected as part of the Trust.
LAT has remained local with all of its academies located in the South East (Kent, Medway, Bexley and Greenwich), within a one hour drive across the South Thames Corridor. This helps us to share resources and expertise much more easily and offer abundant training and progression opportunities to staff. We invest heavily in our workforce and enjoy strong retention across all job roles. The Trust has embedded various advantages which mean that LAT is an excellent place to develop a career in education. This includes being a highly inclusive employer which celebrates the diversity of its workforce.
Our scale and experience means we have been able to develop several well-chosen approaches to running schools which we know work well. These include:
- A small school approach to education where larger academies are organised into colleges. This ensures high quality pastoral care for pupils.
- A world class digital strategy where all staff and pupils have their own device making teaching, learning and operations efficient and highly impactful.
- Disruption free learning and a “warm strict” approach to behaviour management so that teachers can teach and pupils can learn.
- An all-through International Baccalaureate curriculum equivalent in quality to some of the best fee-paying schools and grammar schools in the UK and further afield.
In addition, The Leigh Institute - which is part of LAT - is responsible for Kent and Medway Training, one of the region’s biggest initial teacher training organisations, a large teaching school hub called Thames Gateway and an accredited apprenticeship provider. This powerful organisation trains, develops and supports 1,000s of teachers, support staff and leadership teams across the region each year. Our future plans are found in our Vision 2030, available on our website.
