Are you able to volunteer your time during school hours? Do you enjoy working with secondary-aged students? Here at The Leigh UTC, we highly value the contribution that our volunteers can make to our childrens' learning and cultural experiences throughout the academic year. Volunteer roles within school may include a weekly reading slot (supporting students with additional needs to grow more confident in literacy), assisting the development of problem solving skills and numeracy proficiency, as well as supporting our young people with organisation, self esteem and confidence building. If this is something you are interested in, please submit an application! Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.
Working with us: Having opened in September 2014 with state-of-the-art facilities initially for Key Stages 4 and 5, The Leigh UTC provides an exciting, innovative, business-led, problem-solving curriculum, enabling students to achieve relevant work-related qualifications and transferable skills for future training or employment. The most unique feature of The Leigh UTC is its business ethos that is emphasised by our students' behaviours and supported by our sponsors.
In September 2017, following the request of the Department for Education due to our continued success, The Leigh UTC marked history by expanding its student intake to incorporate Key Stage 3 – the first UTC in the UK to do this. Furthermore, being the first UTC to have IB World School Status has enabled us to develop strong links in Germany and Qatar. The overarching mission of the Inspiration Academy is to develop curious, academically-skilled young people who aspire to be principled, compassionate learners. Our curriculum strives to create students who are self-motivated, competent, willing to take risks and lifelong learners.

With the International Baccalaureate Middle Years programme (MYP) at KS3, GCSEs at KS4, and A-levels, T-levels and the International Baccalaureate Careers Programme (IBCP) at KS5, our ambitious curriculum offer caters for choice, leading the vast majority of students into STEM-related careers or courses.
