Pipers Corner School is a school of individuals - there is no typical “Pipers” girl. We support the girls to fulfil their academic and personal potential, enabling them to emerge as mature, confident and independent young women.

We are seeking to appoint several volunteer School Counsellors who are either qualified or working towards a relevant qualification. Applicants must be a member of BACP or an equivalent professional body. You will work as part of a counselling team who provide a high quality, independent and confidential counselling service to pupils, responding to their personal, social, emotional and educational concerns. The School’s counsellor will provide support and guidance to the successful candidates. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working with young people in a school environment.

Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to demonstrate clear empathy and understanding. Experience of working with young people in a similar role within an educational environment is desirable.

An application form and job description can be obtained from visiting our website www.piperscorner.co.uk For an informal conversation or a visit to the School please contact mflynn@piperscorner.co.uk or telephone Moya Flynn on 01494 719870.

Completed application forms and a covering letter should be sent to the Headmistress via the email address above.

Closing date: Monday 9 November  2020

Interview date:  Monday 16 November 2020

Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date and Pipers Corner reserves the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made.

Pipers Corner School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

At Pipers Corner we are committed to providing a well-structured staff development programme to enhance personal and team development.  We are an equal opportunities employer.

Pipers Corner is an independent day school for girls aged 4–18. From Pre-Prep through to Sixth Form there is a focus on academic excellence as girls are supported and challenged to achieve their full potential. Academically successful, our girls progress to further study at Oxbridge and other top universities or specialist dance, drama and music colleges.

Set in 36 acres of Chiltern countryside, the school is less than one hour from central London (40 minute rail links to Marylebone Station in London) and 45 minutes from Heathrow airport, 4 miles north of High Wycombe and 2 miles from Great Missenden.

The Pipers Corner environment allows girls to thrive. Whatever their strengths, the girls are challenged and supported as they pursue their own unique learning journeys. This approach enables them to fulfil their academic and personal potential and emerge as mature, confident and independent young women.
