This is a great opportunity for a dynamic, professional individual with relevant vocational qualifications to be part of a team that delivers training and assesses employees in the Engineering sector to achieve national standards as part of an Apprenticeship framework. Assessor/Trainers may be asked to deliver and assess on some or all of the following: Appropriate Technical Certificate, NVQ, and Functional Skills (as appropriate to the apprenticeship framework).

This would be an exciting opportunity for an industry based Mechanical Engineering specialist to progress into education, with training and support to achieve their Assessor/Internal Quality Qualifications within 6 months.

This is an exciting position working with major employers within the Engineering sector. You will have occupational experience within the Engineering sector. Recent and relevant experience of delivery and assessment of engineering related disciplines as part of apprenticeship frameworks is essential and you are required to hold an appropriate assessor award. Experience or capability to deliver one or more Functional Skills would be highly desirable.

You will be required to use your expertise to provide a high quality learning environment within Employer Engagement and work closely with the Head of School and Employer Engagement Manager to ensure this delivers the strategy of the College. You will work in a demanding and rewarding environment with young people and adults and this will require a flexible approach.

This is an exciting role that would suit a person with relevant vocational experience and who has good communication skills and is looking to apply those skills in a learning environment. You will be required to work regionally on employer sites.

You will be a highly self-motivated, passionate and driven individual, encompassing a strong sense of autonomy. You will possess strong presentation and communication skills and be able to demonstrate achievement of targets.

The ideal candidates will be required to deliver and assess up to level 3.

This post carries a caseload of between 43 and 63 learners dependent on framework. As part of the role Assessor-Trainers are expected to generate 25% of their own caseload.

Vision West Nottinghamshire College is a mixed, non-denominational further education college in Nottinghamshire serving students from the age of 16 and above. The college has approximately 1,200  full and part-time students attending every year. The college has six sites based in Ashfield and Mansfield. 

Vision West Nottinghamshire College was established as a Technical College in 1928. It was renamed Vision West Nottinghamshire College in 2011. Facilities across the campuses include an engineering innovation centre, art and design centre, sports hall, a hair and beauty training salon and a training restaurant for catering and hospitality students to train in.
