We have a weekend position for a Chef to support the excellent food operations within a prestigious all girls boarding school, catering for approx. 40 children and adults per day.

The position is a lone chef position, working Saturday & Sundays throughout term time when the boarders are living in, which includes only 33 weekends of the full school year.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing breakfast, lunch and dinner over the weekends, and will take full responsibility of the weekend catering requirements for the schools’ boarders, to include cooking, clearing, washing up and general cleanliness of the catering areas.

The successful candidate must have a passion for fresh food and be able to work unsupervised, be self-motivated, and passionate about providing a first-class service, all within a homely environment.

Previous experience in a busy contract catering environment dealing with 40+ covers is essential, as well as having experience working with different dietary and allergy requirements and holding a current food hygiene certificate, as well as a minimum of NVQ2 in cookery or equivalent.

St George’s School for Girls is an independent, all-through school in Edinburgh. It caters for approximately 800 girls aged between two and eighteen.

Founded in 1888 by pioneers of women’s education, St George’s is the largest all-girls school in Scotland and the only all-through girls’ school in Edinburgh. The school was named the top Scottish Independent School for Advanced Higher results by the Best-Schools website in 2014 and 2013.
