Facilities

The school has two campuses; Merton Hall and Morris Hall. The boarding house, assembly hall, chapel, sports field, rowing facility and art, drama and science centres are located at Merton Hall.

The new world-class Artemis Centre – named after the mythical goddess who represents strength and good health – enables us to provide programs and resources that underpin our proactive approach to student wellbeing.

Construction of the Artemis Centre commenced on the site (formerly the Tom Thomas Building) in May 2015 and was completed in July 2017.  The result is an extraordinary building featuring highly sophisticated engineering and elegant finishes, tastefully melding a contemporary façade with traditional elements of the Anderson Street campus.

Curriculum

Melbourne Girls Grammar has four student programs: early learning, junior years, middle years and senior years. The early learning program combines play and intentional learning in preparation for primary school. The junior years focus on team-building skills, cultural, social and personal development. Academia and wellbeing are combined in the middle years, where students consider ethics, community and global challenges. The senior program aims to develop independent learners, who have access to learn and specialise in a wide variety of disciplines. Melbourne Girls Grammar co-curricular program encourages students to explore and identify new passions, with pathways catering to all academic levels.

School ethos

The school emphasises high expectations and the potential of students in academic and creative realms. Their core values are integrity, compassion, courage and self-discipline.
