Job overview

Rosewood Independent School is a trauma-informed school with an attached alternative provision specialising in bespoke academic support through 1:1 and very small group mental health/ trauma/ SEN services and interventions. We are looking for a Wellness Mentor and Case Worker to join our team. 

It is essential that candidates have experience and confidence in behaviour management due to the nature of our setting. 


Roles and Responsibilities

Wellness Mentoring

As a Wellness Mentor you will help students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to manage their own health and wellbeing and make positive lifestyle changes. You will be working under a line manager (the Wellness Lead) and working primarily on a 1:1 timetabled basis with students to provide support including mental health and student voice.

Case Worker Duties

The Case Worker element of the role entails being the first point of contact for parents in case of concerns, complaints, or compliments, and managing and recording such communication effectively. This also involves ensuring documentation relating to schooling and SEND are kept updated, and providing support and advice to families.

Student Engagement 

The team member will contribute to the pastoral support provided in-centre, specifically working alongside our attendance officer and supporting with arrival and induction of new students and staff.

Other Duties

Any other duties required by the Headteacher, Deputy, or Leads which is within the scope of this post.

Please note that this role requires working with children who may display challenging behaviours and/or who may have special educational needs. Confidence in behaviour management is an essential requirement of this role. We require all staff to undergo training in Positive Handling alongside other statutory training requirements.

Safeguarding is the highest priority, and we follow Safer Recruitment procedure. All staff must undergo an enhanced DBS.
