About the Role

We wish the appointed Counsellor to join the team from August 2020. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the schools Vision and Mission as well as all policies, academic standards and pastoral support across the school.

The post holder will report to the Heads of school, assistant director of academic studies and the Principal and will assist in shaping & implementing the strategic Counselling support service to the school.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• To support the school in embracing and encouraging the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the Core Values of the school.

• To support the school in ensuring high academic standards in relation to the school’s own desire for all students to be the best they can as well as a commitment and understanding to uphold the customs and traditions of the Thai community. 

• To undertake teaching and other professional duties as reasonably delegated by the Headteachers and/or Principal when the need arises.

• To fully engage in the Appraisal and performance management process.

• To work closely with the safeguarding leads and SENDCO in the school

To be considered for this role, candidates must be:

• An effective and dynamic individual with a proven track record of supporting young people with their emotional and personal development needs.

• Rigorous in promoting excellence and developing commitment to high standards of care and opportunities for all.

• Able to demonstrate successful experience of working within a team and promoting and developing innovative approaches to student support

• Experienced in developing teacher’s skills and competencies through a sustained school improvement model such as coaching, mentoring and training.

• Able to demonstrate a comprehensive and confident knowledge of best practice pedagogy within the remit of counselling.

• Able to demonstrate a commitment to inclusion with operational strategies

• Able to demonstrate genuine passion towards the wider extra-curricular life of a school.
