DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plan internal verification activities in compliance with the awarding body requirements and that of the College
2. Co-ordinate the internal verification process
3. Manage and deliver on programmes
4. Monitor performance of assessors and ensure the implementation of quality assurance processes within the Centre, including:
· ensuring success and timely completion rates are maintained in line with college and funding policy
· observing assessments, interviewing learners/employers, as required
· standardisation of the assessments process
· identify CPD requirements of assessors and internal verifiers
5. Contribute to ensuring the standardisation of programmes
6. Liaise with external verifiers as appropriate and to comply with external verification plans
7. Advise//train assessors on effective assessment practices and audit requirements
8. Implement and maintain administrative systems to monitor the performance of assessors and internal verifiers
9. Inform the Head of School of any issues which may challenge the assessment or internal verification process
10. Ensure that the training and assessment activities are completed and within the specified timescale
11. Keep quality folders, records, logs, and/or other appropriate documents of the evidence for the assessment as required
12. Ensure confidentiality is maintained throughout
13. Monitor, review and hold regular meetings with allocated assessors/IQA’s
14. Inform the Head of School on learner and assessor progress
15. Identify and resolve issues in relation to learner progress and employer liaison
16. Develop training material as require
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities as a Workbased Learning Coach:
· Work with students, and employers delivering, training and assessing knowledge and performance on College and/or employer premises
· Work with college staff to develop and deliver flexible programmes to meet identified needs
· Assist in the monitoring, review and evaluation of provision in line with the College’s Quality Assurance procedures
· Undertake the enrolment, registration and if required the Basic Skills screening of students
· Assist with the marketing and promotion of college programmes as required
· Fulfill the role of a workbased learning coach, assessor and internal verifier in accordance with the Code of Practice, including the training, development and supporting assessors
· Review and complete detailed records of students’ progress and achievement on Smart Assessor (e-portfolio)
· Manage a case load of students throughout the duration of their course (case-
loads will be determined by the Head of School) · Report to the Head of School on students progression, achievement and success as and when required · Liaise and work with MIS and exams administrators as and when required to ensure date processing requirements are fulfilled · Attend regular standardisation meetings in accordance with the Code of Practice and the college’s quality assurance policies · Assess and monitor student progress and portfolio development · Support and prepare learners for their End Point Assessment (EPA) · Arrange assessment opportunities in liaison with College staff and employers to fulfill the requirements of the EPA/awarding body
· Undertake your duties so as to comply with the requirement of internal and
external quality standards, as well as contributing to the college meeting its
strategic aims
· Attend meetings at the request of your line manager to ensure efficient
communication with the college
· All employees of South and City College Birmingham are required to engage in
CPD (continuous Professional Development) and the appraisal process
· Undertake your duties so as to comply with college policies and procedures, as
well as health and safety regulations
· Carry out any reasonable instructions, which involve additional duties
commensurate with the level and grading of this post
· Must demonstrate commitment towards and support the safeguarding and promotion of students’ welfare
