Nelson and Colne College, an outstanding education provider with excellent facilities and unparalleled staff benefits, are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Work Experience Assistant to join their successful team on a temporary, permanent basis working 37 hours per week for 12 months.


The successful candidate will be supporting the Heads of Division and Course Teams with the identification, securing and monitoring of work placements for students on their courses. The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator comfortable tracking and monitoring information accurately. 


Main duties include:

• Completing all relevant work experience project administration

• Participate in appropriate team meetings and liaise with Course Teams regarding learner progress in the workplace

• Represent the College in a professional manner when dealing with external agencies and employers, and present clear and accurate information on the offer or service provided 

• Respond promptly to all related internal/ external enquiries or problems relating to work experience

• Record all activity in relation to work experience, on College systems


The ideal candidate will have:

• 4 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C or above

• GCE A Level or equivalent (desirable) 

• A higher qualification or Degree (desirable)

• Experience of working within an administrative role, demonstrating excellent attention to detail

• Experience of processing information and utilising systems to monitor and track data

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
