The Exciting Role
A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a highly motivated and dedicated Work Experience Co-ordinator to join our Work Experience team on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week. Term time only will also be considered.
The successful candidate will be responsible for co-ordinating potential placements and communicating and liaising with College staff, students and external stakeholders. You will be able to use your initiative to gain the best opportunity for our students and enable them to enter the workplace successfully following their time with us. Good written and verbal communication and time management is essential to this role.
You will work closely with the College Industry Placement and Work Experience Team Leader to ensure central collation of data and that all placement activities are carried out in line with College guidelines. The role requires good attention to detail and the ability to use a variety of IT packages.
The successful candidate will be primarily based at Nelson & Colne College but may be required to travel across sites.

What You Will Be Doing:

- Co-ordinate work experience opportunities for learners across the College in conjunction with learners and tutors

- Utilise a variety of systems to co-ordinate work experience across the wider team

- Communicate with tutors and other curriculum staff about work experience processes, and assist them with any queries they may have in respect of processes and procedures 

- Deal with enquiries from employers, taking messages and follow-up action, as appropriate

- Deal with confidential correspondence in a professional and discreet manner


What We Are Looking For:

- 4 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above 

- GCE A Level or equivalent (desirable) 

- Successful experience of working with people of all ages, skills and abilities

- Experience of working within an administrative role, demonstrating excellent attention to detail

- Experience of processing information and utilising systems to monitor and track data

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
