Job overview

Here at Carshalton College, we are now looking for two Workshop Assistants; one on a full time basis and the other on a part time basis for (0.5) 18 hours per week.


As our Workshop Assistant, you will assist the Tutors with the delivery of the practical classes. You will distribute and maintain equipment and materials and assist in keeping the workshop area clean and tidy, in compliance with Health & Safety regulations.


This role would suit a highly organised individual who holds a Level 3 qualification in Construction and who has the practical skills required to support a construction workshop. With good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team, you’ll have experience of maintaining and repairing materials and equipment in a workshop environment and be able to work with students of different abilities, assisting and interacting with them as individuals to enable them to have the opportunity to progress their skills to their maximum capacity.

Carshalton College is a co-educational further education college based in Sutton. It is a non-denominational school.

The college has been an education provider for over 60 years. It is a major provider of full-time, part-time, apprenticeships, access, undergraduate and supported learning courses.
