Description St Joseph's College, Lochinvar is seeking a permanent part-time Workshop Assistant to commence in 2020 working 12 hours/week.



St Joseph’s College, founded by the Sisters of St Joseph in 1883, is a co-educational secondary school providing a rich and diverse educational experience for 940 students from Years 7 to 12. The College aspires to be a place of learning where students, staff and families are valued and respected for their uniqueness. • Become an integral part of a team providing high-quality skills support and resources in relation to Timber and Metals Courses
Position Requirements • An understanding of and a clear commitment to the philosophy and objectives of Catholic education;


• Sound understanding of, and commitment to WH&S standards and requirements including maintaining records such as Chemical Safety Records


• Capacity to maintain machinery and tools in the College’s Timber and Metal Workshops


• Ability to manage and deliver workshop maintenance


• Ability to take responsibility for stocktake of consumerable goods and equipment


• Ability to induct and supervise trade persons working in the College Workshops when required


• Ability to work independently and unsupervised


• Capacity to work as a productive member of a team;


• Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills that are appropriate to engaging with students, parents and colleagues.
Essential Criteria • Paid Working With Children Check (WWCC);

• Completion of Anaphylaxis training;

• Compliance with or willingness to work towards the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead 2018 - Category A - Accreditation to Work
Desirable Criteria • Experience in workshop maintenance
