Year 1 Class Teacher (Maternity Cover)

We are looking for an outstanding teacher as Year 1 class teacher (maternity cover) starting from September 2021 until the end of March 2022.

Desired skill set:

● Experience of planning, teaching and assessing in Year 1

● Excellent focus on pupil wellbeing and positive behaviour management

● Excellent communication skills with children, staff and parents

● A team player

● Kind

● Organised and resourceful

● Creative and imaginative with an opportunity to coordinate KS1 English if desired

Wandsworth Preparatory School is a small, one form entry independent school for boys and girls aged 4 to 11. We believe that, from an early age, children should enjoy a breadth of opportunity to develop their ability, interests and potential in a nurturing, warm and secure environment. Classes are a maximum of 18 children and although taught predominantly by their class teacher and teaching assistant, they also receive specialist teaching in Music, French, Spanish, Science, Drama, Forest School and P.E.
